- 14:06—I still think the Stupak amnd. is distracting from the weak PO. But it's far worse than I previously thought. It's pretty sick, actually
- 14:34—Some kind of heron just landed at one of the ponds near work. All the Canadian geese got riled up; started squawking at it, so it flew off
- 14:35—Ah, it flew to the other side of the pond. Poor lonely heron.
- 20:56—Thankfully, Obama is drawing the line at the atrocious Coathanger Amendment. His willingness to do so has renewed some of my faith in him
- 20:58—Unfortunately, as I've said before, it was clearly *designed* as a weapon against the hcr bill. These fuckers will stop at nothing...

- 21:17—lol, why did Sen. John Cornyn send me a "Republican Strategy Survey"? 'cause I'm registered independent they think I might lean Republican?
- 21:18—"Your first-class stamp will help strengthen our Republican Party by saving us much-needed funds!" I think I'll send it back without a stamp

Hope your day was fantabulously excellent!
Bean got stung on her shoulder while playing outside today. My guess is a wasp, since there wasn't a stinger to scrape out. She calmed down once we put some baking soda paste on the sting and had a cookie. Then we blew bubbles on the deck, and she was perfectly happy again.
Right now she's wearing her Halloween costume, even though she was not pleased when I told her we couldn't go trick-or-treating again.
Don't forget to fill out my Neville Big Bang poll if you haven't already, and tell your friends to come fill it out too!

Hello, I was doing some exercise practice for the JLPT 3 exam, and I came across several sentence structures that I have never seen before (this is making me panic, bleh):
1.さんまは秋が旬の魚で、10月から 11月に かけてが 一番おいしい ころでしょう。 → I don't quite understand the sentence structure: why is the て-form followed by a particle - in this case, が? How do you use this sentence structure, and what is it used to express/used for?
2A.また、あなたが家にいない時間に録画をしたいときは 録画の 予約ができ、たいへん便利です。 2B.それから、コピーの 機械の ふたをあけ コピーしたい げんこうをおきます。 → I've kind of figured out by guessing that this sentence structure (i.e. using the stem of a verb's ますform) functions somewhat like the て-form of a verb, in the sense that it's used to join sentences. One question that I have though, is this: when is it appropriate to use the stem of a verb's ますform and when to use a verb's て-form to join sentences?
Help will be much appreciated because I am really quite confused! :(
Thanks a million in advance! :)

Hi everyone,
I am having no luck trying to connect to trekiverse.org over the last 2 weeks so that I can read fanfic to my heart's content. I've tried clearing my browser cash, cookies and history, I've called my ISP for help (no luck), and I've tried accessing the site from other computers in my home. Nothing. Can anyone else connect to trekiverse.org today?
I know a lot of stories used to be on Strange Fits of Passion, but that site is down and I haven't heard any news on when they will be back.
Using the search engine at the ASC and ASCEML sites is very time-consuming and laborious, but it's the only way I'm able to find fic right now.
The BLTS pages at WWOMB has a lot of stories, but not nearly the amount trekiverse.org has.
Any suggestions anyone has to be able to get into trekiverse.org would be greatly appreciated. I'm out of options. Thank you,
- Sheri

mike cracks me up all the time. He fell asleep on my bed a few hours ago, and I wanted to: A: wake him up so he can go home B: wake him up so he can make room on the bed for me
I wasn't too sure which to pick so I decided to wake him up first (it's the only way, I promise I didn't mean to torture him)! I just wanted to get him to move over a bit regardless of what would happen, so I started off by saying "Hey!" ( Madi is amused over stupid shit )
Gotta love that guy. Only person I can sleep-talk to HEH

We thought we had a fairly serious behavioral problem this morning when we found two suspicious wet spots on the arm of one of the overstuffed microfiber chairs in the living room. And evidence pointed to the youngest member of the family, namely one Sora, as none of the rest of us had a habit of marking the furniture. Although the spots were oddly odor-free, which was a mystery to ponder upon.
And then later this afternoon, myrialux heard a strange rasping noise, cautiously looked around, and discovered the nefarious evil-doer in the act ... Sora was indeed the culprit and he was caught red-handed!
Or, rather, red-tongued, as it turns out he was producing the wet spots by licking the chair, rather than anything more unsavory. Questions as to why he was licking the chair produced nothing but strong demands to be put down, as being held in someone's arms was far beyond the dignity of such a magnificent feline who had urgent business elsewhere chasing dust motes.
